Ridiculous crap happens all the time in Hong Kong, but you know it’s really ridiculous when it hits international headlines and news shows.
Last year Jon Stewart our story about the chief executive’s daughter thanking taxpayers for her “beautiful shoes and dresses”, and now Conan O’Brien’s talking about the woman who was sentenced to jail time for during an anti-parallel-trade protest.
In the video of the opening monologue for his show on Monday, O’Brien starts talking about Hong Kong at 4:10: “In Hong Kong, that’s right, I said in Hong Kong, a woman was sent to prison for assaulting a police officer with her breast. The police officer’s demanding an apology and that she do it again. I don’t even understand, I mean understand how it technically works."
“It’s probably some martial arts thing,” said reliable sidekick Andy Richter.
“What?” asked O’Brien.
“Like you know, kung fu…” replied Richter.
“What like nunchakus with the… ?” O’Brien responded, and resorted to mimicking the hypothetical act of using one’s breasts as Okinawan martial arts weapons.
Racist jokes and mixing-up of cultures aside, being convicted of using your breast to assault someone is indeed as ridiculous as, well, boob nunchakus.
