Video (with some hilarious soundbites) provides photography guide to Hong Kong

By Coconuts Hong Kong August 11, 2015 / 17:32 HKT

According to their own hype, DigitalRev TV (DRTV) is “the most subscribed and viewed photography show on the interweb, presented by an Asian dude with British accent.”

We have to admit, we can see what the 1.3 million subscribers tune in for. Not only does this guy tell you the best places to take photos and buy specialist equipment, he's also pretty bloody funny.

Anyone who reads Coconuts HK either likes dry humour or doesn’t understand it. If you’re in the former camp, check out the video or peruse our favourite one-liners of the 13-minute, TL;DW (too long; didn't watch) guide.

“Take the Mid-Level escalators up to SoHo, then walk your way down the hill. Unless you’re one of those sporty types that likes wearing those testicle-confining sports clothes all day, in which case, walk your way up, psycho!”

“Skip Lan Kwai Fong because, for the most part, it’s crap.”

Mong Kok: “There are more dropped-crotched trendsetters here than you can shake a selfie stick at.”

Sham Shui Po: “Old fellas shifting through porn DVDs hidden in pans.”

“If you want a taste of Hong Kong, you can lick the street or eat at Michelin-starred restaurant Tim Ho Wan.”

Sha Tin: “The name sounds like shit, and it is a bit shit – but, oh, that river.”

Sai Kung: “A great place to have a toss in public”.

The Peak: “The view is amazing… at night… when there isn’t any haze. Otherwise there’s bugger all to do up there.”

Tsim Sha Tsui: “Good if you want a suit or a watch. Just stand over there and about 20 people will try to sell you one, even if you don’t want one."

“I could just wonder around these streets all day – lots of things happening – if it wasn’t ball-sweatingly hot like it is today.”

Does this man speak some trews or what?
