Hong Kong police have arrested two men in connection to attacks on four journalists at an anti-Occupy rally on the weekend. A 61-year-old and a 56-year-old have been picked up on suspicion of assault occasioning bodily harm, criminal damage and common assault. Both have however been released on bail and neither has been charged.

The dramatic incident, much of which was caught on camera by other journalists at the scene, ocurred at a “Blue Ribbon” counter-protest on Saturday night in Tsim Sha Tsui. Reporters from both TVB and RTHK were allegedly dragged to the ground, grabbed around the neck, pushed and scratched.

Watch the video. It's pretty scary!

Members of the Hong Kong Journalists Association have slammed the police for failing to make more arrests, claiming the video clearly shows that there was more than two perpetrators. The police claim, however, that the situation was so chaotic that it was difficult to ascertain what happened.

We might have to agree with them there. We’re stumped if we can work out who’s peanutting that poor guy’s tie!

Chief Superintendent Steve Hui has appealed for witnesses and information, and said they do not rule out making more arrests. According to the Hong Kong Journalists Association, at least 24 reporters, including a Coconuts journalist, have been injured since the protests began.
