A few days after the peaceful Occupy Central rally began,
many anti-protest mobs openly attacked the protesters.
Things were out of control and led to
blood shed and hundreds of injuries.
The shocking gang behavior was publically condemned,
especially as the Hong Kong police had condoned the attacks,
which were suspected to be a result of collusion between
the police and the mobs.
Many Hong Kong people suspect that the communist regime
was also behind the scenes of the violent attacks.
On the afternoon of Oct. 3, conflict and bloodshed continued;
Occupy Central protesters in Mong Kok and Causeway Bay
were met with numerous mob attacks.
Hong Kong media reported that the mobs were groups
of well-known criminals in Hong Kong.
Secretary of security at Hong Kong’s Security Bureau,
Lai Tung-kwok, confirmed that out of the 19 people arrested,
eight were linked to organized gangs known as triads.
Apple Daily quoted sources saying that the mobs were dressed
in black, masked, sported tattoos, and were mostly members
of major gangs in Hong Kong.
Their job was to attack the Occupy Central protesters,
remove their materials and create chaos in the movement.
It’s also exposed that a mainland real estate businessman has,
in order to bribe the local officials, recruited people to assist
the gangs in attacking protesters for a reward of 500 yuan.
“If the attackers were triad members, it would not be
the first time the Chinese underworld gangs have been used
for political ends," reported The New York Times.
Zhang Weiguo, editor at Hong Kong’s Trends Magazine:
“Former Communist leader Deng Xiaoping had said
before Hong Kong’s handover that, the triad is patriotic;
the public security heads said it too.”
“The Chinese Communist Party has, both before and after
taking power, manipulated the triads to do the unthinkable.”
“This has been seen in history;
anything we see now is not very surprising.”
An insider has also revealed that the gangsters knew that
their attacking Occupy Central would be shunned.
The protesters are fearless—attacks are unlikely to succeed
and they are preparing for the second wave of action.
It is known that the triads have offered 2,000 yuan per person
for those who will sneak into the protests while pretending
to be yellow ribbon members, to discredit the protesters.
It is an attempt to break up Occupy Central
by destroying public support.
Commentators say the gangs’ plan is just like how Hitler
engaged in Congress arson, and what the Chinese Communist
regime did during the repression of the 1989 Students’ protest.
They want to create excuses for suppression
by creating discord and confusion.
George Mason University Adj. Professor Zhang Tianliang:
“During the 1989 students’ protest, the regime characterized
the movement as ‘a counter-revolutionary rebellion.’”
“In fact, the CCP had soldiers, armed police, and their spies
smash and burn the military vehicles, and even kill;
then they used it as an excuse, saying revolutionary rioting
had erupted in Beijing, and started to clean the scene.”
The 1989 student protest and its protesters
were in fact peaceful, rational, and non-violent.”
The Hong Kong police is accused of unfair law enforcement
and of deliberately condoning the underworld mobs’ attacks.
Internet users are summing up the three charges of the police
and mob collusion, according to media videos and photos:
One—in the face of violence, the police had sat by idly;
two—the thugs’ endless revival while victims were arrested;
three— mutual understanding and cooperation between
the anti-protest groups, the mobs and the police.
According to RFI’s report, some videos uploaded to CNN
online show that the anti-protest blue ribbon activities
were clearly prepared and conducted at the police station
in Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon.
Zhang Tianliang: “After all, Hong Kong is under the control
of the CCP; especially the Hong Kong police, who are under
the direct control of Leung Chun-ying.”
“Hong Kong’s police may have ignored professional ethics
and taken orders from Leung Chun-ying.”
“I suspect many of them might not be Hong Kong police,
but CCP spies, wearing the police uniform or even symbols
of the Occupy Central protesters with intent to do damage.”
“Under such a situation, I don’t hold any hope that
Leung Chun-ying will conduct any law enforcement.”
“Open Umbrella”, the song for the Umbrella Revolution
made by numerous Hong Kong musicians including
the lyricist Lin Xi, has moved tens-of-thousands of people.
On Oct. 4, evening—Lin Xi personally went to government
headquarters to show his solidarity with Occupy Central.
Wearing black, he said, “You ask me if I am afraid;
Yes, I'm afraid, because I am also a human being.”
“But if we fear at this critical moment, we will have to face
even greater fear in the future; now we have no excuse.”
