Seven Hong Kong police officers suspended for alleged protester beating

Hong Kong police have announced that the seven officers accused of beating unarmed protester and Civic Party member Ken Tsang have been suspended… finally!
Kong Man-keung, superintendent of the police public relations bureau (they must be pretty busy right now), said in a press conference that an investigation into the incident had begun, adding that suspending the officers had taken so long because of problems with identification.
The story broke in the early hours of yesterday morning when broadcaster TVB released grainy footage that appeared to show several police officers carrying a handcuffed Tsang to a secluded corner and kicking and punching him for several minutes.
According to a report by the SCMP, ten Democratic Party members have announced that they will resign as community advisers for the government in protest over the alleged attack.
