The Airport Authority has been urged again not to raise funds for the third runway at Hong Kong International Airport before court proceedings challenging the project end.

The authority will start collecting a construction fee from travelers as early as April next year, and will also issue bonds to finance the HK$141 billion project.

But three judicial review applicants say it was unfair to investors and travelers for the money to be collected – because they may win their court cases.

Mark Mak, a research officer of Green Sense, which is helping the applicants, told RTHK's Damon Pang that the authority should respect the judicial process and wait for its final result before raising funds.
