Richard Tsoi talks to RTHK's Yvonne Lou
The Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China said it will urge a United Nations committee to pressure China over the torture of political dissidents.
The Alliance's vice-chairman, Richard Tsoi, said China has repeatedly violated the UN Convention Against Torture despite being a signatory.
He said he would meet committee members in Geneva to give them the latest information before its hearing with the mainland delegation starting on November 17.
He told RTHK's Yvonne Lou that the delegation hopes to update the UN about the recent crackdown on rights activists and lawyers. He said more than 300 people have faced action in recent months, he said.
