Find all things good with this awesome illustrated map of Hong Kong

By Coconuts Hong Kong November 5, 2015 /13:03 HKT

On first glance, this jumble of colour and random images appears to be exactly that. On closer inspection, however, we see a detailed map of Hong Kong, as seen through the rose-tinted glasses of a native illustrator.
From the famous egg tarts of Tai Cheong Bakery on Lyndhurst Terrace, to the old haunted hospital on High Street, the Tung Choi Street Goldfish Market and the hanging fish at Tai O fishing village, the patchwork painting serves as a “what’s where” of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
Publishing website viction:ary writes: “Time and space intertwine in CITIx60 Hong Kong City Map [that's what the piece is called], just as world culture and traditions mingle in this tiny yet ambitious Asian city. Loud and electric with enviable style, the drawing projects Hong Kong illustrator Vivian Ho’s utopian vision of her birthplace where only fond memories and beautiful things remain.”
The website adds that belonging to the last generation of Hong Kong’s colonial era, Ho has dedicated her work to conserving Hong Kong culture.
G’wan, girl! We like your style and will certainly never get lost again.
