Lawmakers have questioned whether the Chief Executive’s newly set up personal Facebook page will be able to salvage his low popularity, given CY Leung’s limited number of 'friends' with full access to it.
Independent legislator Lam Tai-fai noted pan-democrats weren’t the only ones who had not been invited to befriend Leung on the social media site. He pointed out that deputies of the National People’s Congress and the Central government’s advisors from the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference weren’t on the Chief Executive’s friends list either.
Civic Party lawmaker Kwok Ka-ki complained that people not on Leung's list of friends cannot leave any comments on his page. He asked the Secretary for Home Affairs, Lau Kong-wah, whether it is at all possible to be added as a friend.
Lau said he would relay Kwok’s concerns to the Chief Executive.
