A body encased in concrete was found in a Tsuen Wan industrial building by policemen investigating a missing-person case.

Three people, aged 16 to 24, including a woman have been detained, Apple Daily reports.

A foul smell led investigators to a slab of concrete in a ninth floor unit in DAN6 building in Fui Yiu Kok Street.

Firemen called in to break it open found a decomposing body inside.

Police found several bottles of air-freshener and mothballs in the unit, apparently used to mask the odor.

The air-conditioner was on and the floor was smudged with bloodstains, investigators said.

Officers were checking the building after receiving a report about a 28-year-old man who went missing on March 6.

The description of his clothing matched that of the dead man.

Police are looking into a possible motive and are not ruling out further arrests.
