Politicians are being forced to take the campaign for reform to the street by the government and it shows the inherent problems with Hong Kong's political system, lawmaker Claudia Mo said on Friday.Speaking to RTHK about the her arrest along with other protesters on Thursday night, Ms Mo said clearance of the Admiralty protest site may be the end of a chapter, but it is also the beginning of another.

"We said we will be back. All democracy supporters have to discuss and organise to decide when and where," she said.

All 247 protesters arrested from the Admiralty protest site have been released.

Some, including the 15 pan-democrat lawmakers and the student leader Alex Chow, have been released unconditionally after they refused bail.

But the police said it reserves the right to prosecute.

Others have been released on bail and are required to report back at a later date.
