The Civic Party said on Monday that it is concerned about a Development Bureau proposal to allow five different hotels manage the public area along the future Kai Tak Promenade.
Authorities plan to divide the 850-metre-long stretch into five sections so the five successful hotel bidders will be able to independently operate the plots.
The party criticised the arrangement, saying it is ‘absurd’. It said there will be a lack of consistency in terms of planning, design and management.
The vice-chairwoman of the party, Tanya Chan, called for a detailed public consultation on the matter.
