The Consulate General of France will hold a vigil at Tamar Park on Monday evening to pay tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks.

A minute of silence will be observed at 7 p.m. Hong Kong time. It will be noon time in France when people there will also observe silence to remember the victims.

The French Consul General to Hong Kong, Eric Berti, said employees of about 800 French companies in Hong Kong have been invited to the vigil, and he thanked everyone who have shown support.

A condolences book has been opened at the consulate and will be available until Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Immigration Department has announced that French visitors can apply for an extension of stay if they wish to remain in Hong Kong for a longer period of time. The applications will be given priority and under normal circumstances, they can be approved on the same day.
