Two pro-democracy legislators say they'll present a petition to Legco on Wednesday demanding an in-depth investigation of the civil unrest in Mong Kok last month.
The Civic Party's Alvin Yeung and the Labour Party's Cyd Ho say it's regrettable that the government refused to form a commission to study the incident and its causes.
In the petition, they criticise the Chief Executive, CY Leung, for quickly labelling the violence a riot, without an investigation.
They want to form a select committee to study what led to the violence and how similar incidents can be prevented. To do so, they need the support of at least 20 legislators.
