Abraham Shek
Legislator and Hong Kong University Council member Abraham Shek has been named the "spokesperson" of the university's governing body until an official chairman is appointed.
Mr. Shek said he will be responsible for making important decisions for the time being, and he will also follow up on the university's application for a court injunction to stop the media from publishing confidential information.
A temporary chairman, meanwhile, will be appointed during each council meeting to host the conference.
Mr Shek stressed this is a necessary procedure.
