Chris Yeung
A veteran journalist says the results of the District Council election will have profound implications for next year's Legislative Council poll.
Speaking on RTHK's 'Letter to Hong Kong', Chris Yeung said, although keen competition between the pan-democratic and pro-government camps could result in a high voter turnout, a low turnout is also possible, and this could have a knock-on effect on people's approach to politics here.
He said a low turnout could see sentiment growing from bad to worse because of the political reform fiasco and the dismal state of the city.
Yeung said the camp that performed the best would have greater resources and political capital going into 2016 Legco poll.
