Edward Chan talks to RTHK's Candice Wong
A former chairman of the Bar Association, Edward Chan, called on the Law Society to drop their proposal of introducing a unified entrance exam for solicitors if it fails to reach a consensus among stakeholders.
The Association and Hong Kong University's Law Faculty had earlier hit out at the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) as it may effectively bypass the existing test run by law schools.
Chan, also the chairman of the Association's Special Committee of Legal Education, told RTHK’s Candice Wong that there a lot of technical difficulties that has to be overcome to conduct a unified exam.
