Two male passengers departing Hong Kong were arrested separately on Sunday after stun guns were found in their check-in luggage.

At 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Malcolm Keithlann Surgions, who comes from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, was arrested in the restricted area of the Hong Kong International Airport after security personnel found a 17 centimeter-long stun gun in his checked baggage, according to a DBC report.

The 33-year-old man, who claimed to be a sailor, was sent to the Tsuen Wan Magistracy on Monday. He pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of firearms and ammunition without license and was fined HK$800.

Another traveler, a 29-year-old businessman departing for India, was arrested for the same reason at 11 a.m. on Sunday, RTHK reported. He arrived in Hong Kong from Shekou in Shenzhen.

He said he bought a 17 cm-long torch-shaped stun gun from Guangzhou for his own use.

Police warned travelers against bringing forbidden goods to Hong Kong.
