Pro-democracy party People Power says it will temporarily occupy two traffic lanes on Harcourt Road in Admiralty if more than a thousand people turn up to mark the beginning of the 79-day Occupy campaign a year ago.
Party member Tam Tak-chi says they plan to climb over metal barricades to occupy the road for 87 minutes just before 6pm.
That was the time last year when police fired 87 tear gas canisters to disperse pro-democracy demonstrators.
Meanwhile some 40 protesters, who are opposed to the Occupy movement, have held a march between Chater Garden in Central and the Central Government Offices in Admiralty.
They said last year's Occupy campaign had torn society apart. They called on local voters to kick pan-democratic legislators out of the Legislative Council at next year's Legco election.
