The Financial Secretary, John Tsang, said on Monday that the government will put a vacated office building in Mong Kok on the market later this year, as part of its efforts to increase office supply in busy areas.

The Trade and Industry Department Tower on Nathan Road will provide 26,000 square metres of floor area. The department had moved to Kai Tak.

Speaking during an opening ceremony for the department's new building, Tsang said government offices would be gradually moved out of business districts. He said the next plan was to relocate three government buildings on the Wan Chai waterfront.
