The Sha Tin Tsung Tsin Secondary School is the latest to fall victim in the lead water contamination saga.
Water tests conducted by the Education Bureau found excessive levels of the heavy metal in seven out of 15 water samples, the worst of which were nearly four times above acceptable standards.
In the school's own testing in August, one sample contained excessive lead, and it asked teachers and students to stop drinking water from related pipes.
The bureau started testing water at government and subsidised primary and secondary school built after 2005 as the lead water contamination scandal spread. The heavy metal was first detected at public housing estates, and some kindergartens later found their water was also contaminated.
