A pro-democracy legislator has said there could be a second Occupy Central, with a million people taking to the streets, if CY Leung gets a second term as Hong Kong's Chief Executive.
The Civic Party's Dennis Kwok told a special RTHK "Backchat" programme on 2047 that Leung must go in order to save the "One country, Two systems" principle. He said Leung is not putting the people of Hong Kong first.
In 2047 - 50 years after the handover - Hong Kong's autonomy and other freedoms will no longer be guaranteed by the Basic Law. It is commonly known as the second handover.
Kwok also said genuine universal suffrage was the best way to guarantee Hong Kong's future.
Also appearing on the programme was pro-government legislator Priscilla Leung. She said self-determination, or independence, for Hong Kong was not an option.
Many pro-democracy groups have raised the possibility of Hong Kong independence after the 2014 Occupy Campaign failed to persuade Beijing to give ground on political reform for the SAR.
Ms Leung said independence had not been on the table in 1980s when the transfer of sovereignty was being discussed between Britain and China.
Another guest - the chairman of the Liberal Party's Youth Committee, Dominic Lee - said Beijing should take a step back with regard to Hong Kong. He also suggested changing the Chief Executive.
