FOCUS TAIWAN - CNA ENGLISH NEWS
Taipei, June 21 (CNA) Hong Kong book seller Lam Wing-kee, who had been detained by China since last October before returning to Hong Kong June 14, said if he were to seek political asylum, he would choose Taiwan because he trusts a popularly elected government.
Lam made his remarks during a telephone interview with Taiwan's Public Television Service (PTS) Tuesday night.
During the interview, he was asked if he was considering seeking asylum overseas and if yes, which country he would prefer to go to.
He accused China of violating its own "one country, two systems" policy by abducting him and four others.
