The Federation of Students and other supporting organisations have called on people to gather on Tim Mei Avenue at 8 tonight for a large-scale assembly to demand true democracy.
The Federation said many of its core members were arrested when police cleared protestors from Civic Square this afternoon.
But Gary Fong, a member of the Federation's standing committee, said the students would not back down, and would continue their protest at Tamar until the government responds to their demands for genuine democracy.
