By Coconuts Hong Kong November 27, 2014 / 13:16 HKT

This video, posted by DBC media and which has racked up almost 13,000 shares at the time of writing, shows a police officer – supposedly a superintendent – whacking a person, who appears to be simply walking past him, with his baton. This seemed to have taken place sometime Wednesday evening or in the early hours of Thursday in Mong Kok.

The extended version of the video, posted on the "I am a Hongkonger" Facebook page, which shows the police using force on another man 24 seconds in, has reached over 4,000 shares.

Other videos of alleged police violence have been circulating social media networks. Take this one, for example, supposedly taken on Wednesday:
We know that by and large police officers are trying to keeping the peace... but over the past two days in Mong Kok some have come off as cattle herders.
