Shuttle buses arranged by the government have been sending Kai Ching Estate residents considered to be at risk to the United Christian Hospital to have their blood tested for lead content.
The Secretary for Food and Health Ko Wing-man says experts from the health authorities have been working out a new safety threshold to better analyse lead levels in blood samples.
The government has announced that blood samples from nine Kai Ching Estate residents living in the units first confirmed with excessive amounts of lead in their water supply have been found to contain "normal" levels of lead. And the blood of an infant living in Kwai Luen Estate, the second public estate discovered with the problem, has also been found to contain normal amounts of lead.
