A man taking a leak in the men’s room at Hong Kong International Airport nearly wet the floor when he saw a hand sticking out of a hole above the urinal where one would expect the sensor for the automatic flush to be.
Overcoming his shock, he had the presence of mind to take a photo of the hand.
When he posted it later on hkgolden.com, a popular internet forum, the picture quickly went viral, Headline Daily reported Tuesday.
Most of those who commented on the photo online said the hand probably belonged to a maintenance worker who was trying to fix a problem with the sensor.
Other netizens were more inclined to take the piss.
Some said the sensor was a fake and that the flush was in fact manually operated by a minimum wage worker.
Others warned that such manual flushers may have been installed in some women’s toilets.
