The head of the Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) has said the government may review its rules on voter registration. His comments come following numerous allegations about suspected vote rigging.

Justice Barnabas Fung said deciding between a more stringent registration system which would prevent vote-rigging, and a more lenient one to encourage voting, is a "give and take situation."

The court has removed almost 300 voters from the provisional list, out of 1,500 cases where questions were raised.

Fung stressed the system is meant to ensure the accuracy of voters' details, and noted that more objections were filed than in previous years.
