A group opposed to the planned revitalisation of the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade has called on the government to scrap the plan and relaunch the whole project.
This comes after the Leisure and Cultural Services Department said on Monday that it will hold a two-round public consultation exercise. But the public would not be asked whether New World Development (NWD) should be in charge of the project.
The Victoria Waterfront Concern Group questioned whether the proposal is a ploy to allow NWD to make money from an open, public space.
The group also said allowing a private developer to co-host a consultation exercise was an unprecedented step.
