The Secretary for Justice, Rimsky Yuen, is relaunching prosecutions against 17 people accused of obstructing bailiffs during the clearance of the Occupy protest site in Mong Kok last November.
The High Court dropped the contempt of court cases earlier this month because of a procedural blunder by the Department of Justice.
The department had failed to file a "notice of appointment to hear the original summons" within 14 days, in accordance with court rules.
A spokesman said the justice secretary hopes to bring the cases to court again as soon as possible "to best protect the public interest”.
