The Victoria Waterfront Concern Group has called on Legco and the Chief Secretary, Carrie Lam, to look into the planned development of the Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront – saying the project hasn't followed established government guidelines.
The Avenue of Stars was closed for three years last week for the facelift work despite a public outcry over the lack of tendering of the project.
The public are still being consulted about the redevelopment plans.
Former Civic Party lawmaker Tanya Chan, who is a member of the concern group, said the place belongs to the public and is owned by the government. So the officials look into the matter.
New World Development, who managed the site, is doing the redevelopment of the area.
