Executive Councillor Fanny Law said on Sunday that people shouldn't speculate at this stage as to what has happened to five men connected to a Causeway Bay book shop who have been reported missing in recent months.

The latest disappearance came last week, when Lee Bo, 65, was reported missing by his wife. She fears he has been taken to Shenzhen by mainland security agents.

Law said on a radio programme that if mainland law enforcement officers have been carrying out duties in Hong Kong it would be a serious violation of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle.

Law, who is also a Hong Kong deputy to the National People’s Congress, said she might express her concern at this year's NPC meeting in Beijing.
