Priscilla Leung talks to RTHK's Jimmy Choi

Another honorary consultant with the China-Australia Legal Exchange Foundation, lawmaker Priscilla Leung, says she will be leaving the group soon.

This came after two members of the prominent pro-Beijing group, Damien Shea and Raymond Yung, were found frolicking in a karaoke bar during a visit to the capital as a part of a delegation to meet mainland leaders.

Leung, who is from the Professional and Business Alliance, also went as part of the delegation. She said she will be resigning from the foundation soon and part of the reason was that she was unhappy with what happened in the karaoke bar.

Leung also told RTHK’s Jimmy Choi that the foundation should review the focus of its work.

Beijing loyalist, Maria Tam, earlier left the foundation as an honorary consultant. But it was not clear whether her resignation had anything to do with what happened in the karaoke bar.

The Mingpao Daily reported earlier that Shea and Yung had visited the karaoke bar and mingled with several unidentified women every night during the four-day trip.

During the visit, the delegation had met senior mainland official Zhang Rongshun who said recently that Beijing has "guns and cannons ready" to tackle those who advocate Hong Kong’s independence.

Shea and Yung both resigned from the group on Monday night after reports of their activities.
