Several members from the Professional Teachers' Union say they'll file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner later Wednesday against a hotline set up by the Alliance for Peace and Democracy.
The hotline encourages people to report any plans for class boycotts in secondary schools in protest of Beijing's restrictions on Hong Kong's political reform.
The vice-president of the Union, Ip Kin-yuen who also represents the education sector in LegCo, said they hope the Privacy Commissioner would launch an investigation into concerns over the hotline.
"They should collect personal details according to the law regulating the collection of personal data, if it is not in accordance with the law the Commission should do something to stop them," he said.
