Regina Ip expects 6 months of unrest

HKT 09:46

Executive Councillor and New People's Party leader, Regina Ip, says she expects six months of unrest in Hong Kong, until lawmakers vote on the government's political reform proposal.

On Sunday, activists vowed to take civil disobedience actions after the National People's Congress Standing Committee set out a conservative framework for reform for the 2017 Chief Executive election.

It would allow 'one person, one vote'
only after a nominating committee had first picked up to three candidates.

Speaking to RTHK, Ms Ip accused pan-democrat lawmakers of fighting for their own political interests and not for the good of Hong Kong, after they vowed to veto any government proposal based on the NPC decision.
