Democrats hold 'frank exchange' with CY

RTHK photoLawmakers from the Democratic Party have held what was described as "a frank exchange" with the Chief Executive, CY Leung and Chief Secretary Carrie Lam, in a meeting that lasted longer than scheduled.

The talks covered a wide range of topics, from the recent lead contamination issue to bid-rigging by renovators.

The chairwoman of the Democratic Party, Emily Lau, said she hopes the Chief Executive won't "just talk the talk, but will walk the walk".

Talking to RTHK later, Ms Lau said they had offered a raft of proposals on different of issues and hoped that the CE would consider this, consult other lawmakers and come back with ideas that will have broad-based support.
