Several dozen members of the Federation of Students and the Student Union of The University of Hong Kong have staged a rally from the HKU campus to the Government House in protest against the Chief Executive being the Chancellor of all public universities.
The Secretary-General of the Federation of Students, Nathan Law, said academic freedom and institutional autonomy across the city have come under great threat as CY Leung has been trying to use his position to exert political influence on the institutions.
