A 71-year-old man has been sentenced to seven days in prison after he was found guilty of assaulting a teenager during the Occupy Movement last October.
The Eastern Court heard how Man Ho-chuen had stuck his fist into the throat of an 18-year-old pro-democracy supporter at the protest site in Admiralty.
In sentencing, Magistrate Lee Siu-ho slammed the defendant for demonstrating no remorse for his wrongdoing and having no respect for the freedom of expression.
But Mr Man has decided to appeal against the ruling, and he has been released on bail pending his appeal application.
