A police sergeant said he might have exaggerated his testimony about being attacked by a teenage girl during an anti-parallel trading protest.
But the attack did happen, Yau King-man told a Tuen Mun court on Monday.
The court heard that the 16-year-old defendant, surnamed Chan, kicked Yau in the back and right leg during a March 1 rally in Yuen Long.
Yau said Chan kicked him with a pink shoe as he turned around and hit him twice more after he warned her to stop.
He then placed Chan under arrest and tried to prevent her from fleeing into the crowd, Yau said.
However, when shown a video clip of the incident by the defendant, Yau changed his tune.
He admitted he did not see the pink shoe and could not confirm if he was kicked with it.
The judge accepted his revised testimony.
The hearing was adjourned until Friday.
