A pro-government legislator has called for more dialogue between the pan-democrats and the pro-establishment camp over the chairmanship of panels in the Legislative Council.
Jeffrey Lam from the Business and Professionals Alliance made the comment after DAB legislator Ip Kwok-him refused to co-ordinate the positions with pro-democracy councillors when the new legislative year begins next month.
The relationship of the two sides soured after the pan-democrats took control of two key committees last year by joining in at the last minute.
Lam said communication is the key to settling disputes, and that it is important to realise that “there are always two sides [to] a story”.
