Swans are what Disneyland visitors expect to see in the moat surrounding the Sleeping Beauty Castle, not a quarreling couple.
So it came as a shock to onlookers when they saw a man and a woman jump into the water outside the castle on Thursday amid a loud altercation.
The incident happened a little after 4 pm as a quarrel broke out between the couple, who were from mainland China, Apple Daily reports.
In a fit of pique, the woman is said to have jumped into the moat first. According to bystanders, the lady was standing in almost waist-high water while her partner stood on the bridge shouting: “come back!”
But the woman refused to step out, prompting the man to jump into the water himself and try to drag her back.
The couple was having a noisy argument in Putonghua, though it is not clear what exactly it was about.
Soon some park staffers came and escorted the duo out of the water.
An onlooker later joked about the incident, saying the couple might have merely jumped into the water due to the unbearable heat.
According to a Disneyland spokesman, the couple did not suffer any injuries.
