Caroline Mak
The chairwoman of the Hong Kong Retail Management Association, Caroline Mak, has expressed concern about job prospects for fresh graduates, being as the retail sector is stuck in the doldrums.
Mak said a drop in the number of visitors to Hong Kong is partly to blame, and more retailers are terminating their tenancies and reshuffling personnel.
Although she stressed that laying off staff was still seen as a last resort, she said she was not optimistic about the chances of newcomers to the job market.
