A 17-year-old student has pleaded guilty in District Court to detonating a home-made bomb in January.
Yip Wai-long admitted setting off the bomb in the stairwell of the building where he lives, in Fu Cheong Estate in Sham Shui Po. The explosion damaged a smoke lobby door and the walls.
The judge said he believed Yip did it for fun. Sentencing was adjourned until after the trial of another defendant, 18-year-old Li Yat-man, who has denied a charge of arson.
