Chow Ka-foon speaks to RTHK's Janice Wong
The former President of the Hong Kong Society of Transplantation, Chow Ka-foon, has warned that hundreds of patients waiting for organ transplants may end up facing the same fate as Jamella Lo if things do not improve.

Lo, 19, died of lung disease on Wednesday after waiting for a suitable donor for more than two weeks.

Chow said the government lacks a comprehensive plan on organ donation. She told RTHK's Janice Wong that there were currently more than 2,000 patients waiting for organ donations, and half of them will probably die while waiting.

Chow called on the government to set up an organ procurement organisation to better handle the issue.
