The MTR Corporation is looking at further relaxing restrictions on passengers who want to take bulky musical instruments on its trains.
A registration system for these passengers was announced on Tuesday. But the current size restrictions remain unchanged, which means large instruments such as the double bass, harp and guzheng are not allowed on board.
However, the company’s Operations Manager, Allen Ding, told an RTHK radio programme on Wednesday that they were working on ways to make it possible for passengers to bring the guzheng onto trains.
A former director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Darwin Chen, welcomed the corporation’s efforts in resolving the problem.
