People Power hinted on Sunday that it may refrain from filibustering the government's request for a start-up fund for the establishment of the Innovation and Technology Bureau if includes specific measures to redevelop Hong Kong's industrial sector.
Its co-founder, lawmaker Albert Chan, said the administration had earlier accepted the idea of supporting the city’s industrial sector, but has yet to come up with concrete proposals.
He said he wanted to see the government offer some specific details, adding that if it did, People Power might refrain from filibustering the funding request.
The funding issue was back again in the Legislative Council’s Finance Committee last Friday when it held its first meeting for the new legislative year. Filibustering in the previous legislative session prevented the funding request from being passed.
