Four charged over June Legco protest
HKT 00:09
Police have charged four people, including a 15-year-old, in connection with a rowdy protest at the Legislative Council complex in June.
Opponents of the government's development plan for the northeastern New Territories stormed the building during the protest.
The defendants face charges, including unlawful assembly and attempting to forcibly enter the Legco building.
Some of those arrested during the incident have accused the government of using the police to intimidate protesters ahead of an expected Occupy Central protest.
But the police say officers acted in accordance with the law and were neutral.
The defendants are due to appear at Eastern Magistracy on Thursday.
