The Civic Party has called on the the government to immediately install water filters for public housing tenants affected by the lead contamination.
The party cited a Consumer Council report in February that said there are certified filters which can remove the heavy metal.
Karen Mak, a party member who's also a chemistry lecturer at Baptist University, said certified filters can clear many impurities, including lead.
The Civic Party also called for introducing new laws to regulate water safety, saying that the current legislation does not provide enough provisions on the specific matter.
