The activists rally outside the court. RTHK photo: Maggie HoA magistrate has questioned why it took the police over a year to arrest four activists who took part in a protest in June last year.

People Power lawmaker Albert Chan, League of Social Democrats' Raphael Wong, and student leaders Joshua Wong and Nathan Law, were arrested last week for obstructing police officers outside the Liaison Office.

The prosecution explained that legal advice took time, but Eastern Court magistrate Bina Chainrai warned that the defendants may apply to halt the case on grounds of delay and prejudice.

All four pleaded not guilty. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled to take place at the end of August.
