The new Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah has dismissed speculation that he will favour the political party he affiliates with when it comes to allocation of district resources.
Mr Lau is a DAB member and a former lawmaker before he became the undersecretary for constitutional and mainland affairs. He was appointed to the new post on Tuesday.
Speaking on his first day in office, Mr Lau said he believed high transparency in governing and scrutiny by the media and lawmakers would ensure equal treatment to all district councillors despite their political stance.
